Survey Marks

Survey Marks

Thursday 13 March 2025

Survey marks are a big part of every day life here at Parker Scanlon, but what exactly are they and why are they so important?

Survey marks are a State asset and provide a wealth of important information to a wide range of people in the community. They are used to support the surveying of property boundaries and easements, and are important for engineering, road building and other land surveys.

The loss of survey marks can significantly degrade the integrity of the legal property boundaries and impact on the costs of development projects that depend upon position and height.

There are many types of survey marks used for various purposes. Many are buried and may only be identified by a Registered Land Surveyor. Maybe now you know, you may identify many in your day to day activities!

If you need survey services for any purpose, our experienced team can assist, just call the office on 02 4969 6995 or email surveys@parkerscanlon.com.au
